This scooter is so perfect for zipping around my neck of the woods as well as for commuting to the subway station, and then to the office from the other subway station. I go to hair salons, light grocery shopping trips, and just for the heck of it on this scooter. It is really easy to get around on it in good weather. So far, I’ve seen it perform admirably.
The weight restriction is a bit problematic as the stated max weight is 220. So if you are 195 and carrying some things in the backpack, then you are a bit too close to the max, and on the way uphill it shows. The app is nice enough, but it constantly can’t figure out that the ride was not under 200m. I can ride for 20 minutes and cover three miles on the scooter, but the app just won’t see it and ask me if I want to record the ride even though it was under 200m. That means the mileage count on the app is wildly inaccurate and you don’t really know how much you’ve actually ridden.
I have had the max for 6 months now. I am in construction and use it to avoid crowded subways since covid-19 hit nyc. Has great range and speed. The 10″ air filled tires almost make up for the lack of suspension but at 40 lbs you really can’t pack anything else into this commuter scooter. Everyone else in my job has cheaper scooters such as gotrax and they have no suspension, no speed or 10-in tires filled with air. So this is the best scooter for under $1000.
I’ve put about 400 miles on the Max. Really happy with the quality of the scooter overall. My city has terrible roads but the air filled tires keep it comfortable. I’ve also pulled sharp objects like glass and screws from the tires and never had a flat. Pretty good speed/pick-up. I feel like I can generally keep up with traffic. Battery life impacts speed pretty significantly. 18mph on my way to work (4miles) and closer to 16mph on my way home.Very happy with the purchase and feel like it’s a solid investment. Only “con” is the weight. I think twice if you have to regularly carry it up and down a flight of stairs in the city. Folds up nicely but it’s heavy.Overall, very happy with the Max and highly recommend!
Ok. Now that I have your attention. BUY IT. Here’s why.. I first fell in love with this model while renting scooters in Washington D.C. and boy did it make me want to own my own. So for months i had it in my saved list.. and then December came and I gifted it to myself.
I AM 6’5, 370lbs if I can zoom around town with no issues.. so can you. It’s durable, sturdy and built to last many trips. Do not fool yourself with other scooter who go faster. In order to go faster you have to make it lighter which makes your scooter experience terrible. This has been one of my best investments I have made and I can’t wait to ride the boardwalks of my favorite beaches!
This is my truth and I’m sticking to it!
Very happy loving the Max very smooth very long lasting so far hopefully everything is the same In The future I guess time will tell but so far very happy kinda expensive but over all now having hands on and riding 5?? Definitely recommend you won’t be disappointed. ……… Thank you Segway
